Vijay Sampla Inaugurates Cleanliness Drive In City

Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment in India, Mr Vijay Sampla launched a cleanliness drive under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan at Railway Station, here today. This cleanliness drive was organised jointly by an NGO named Green Globe Citizens and ITBP.While addressing the gathering, Mr Vijay Sampla said that such cleanliness drives set an example before our countrymen that they should always keep their surroundings clean. He said that Swachh Bharat Abhiyan does not only mean cleanliness of surroundings, but it is also related to cleanliness of mind. He said that people should adopt this drive as their own and cleanliness of a mind would automatically lead to cleanliness of mind.Mr Vijay Sampla also urged other NGO's and Social Organisations to come and take this drive forward so that it achieves its real purpose.

While speaking on the occasion, Mr Baljinder Singh, Commandant, 26th Bn, ITB Police highlighted the importance and necessity of clean environment. He also stressed that it is the duty of every citizen of this country to keep his or her surroundings clean.Mr Varinder Kumar, Founder President, Green Globe Citizens, said that by holding this cleanliness drive, their main aim is to set an example before our city residents that they should always keep their surroundings clean. He thanked hundreds of ITBP personnel for joining them in today's cleanliness drive. Mr Kumar said that once their cleanliness drive in Railway Station, Ludhiana, is complete, the same place would present a neat and clean picture.Prominent among those present on the occasion included BJP District President Mr Parveen Bansal, besides several others.
