Kashmir resolution will guarantee peace in South Asia: Zafar Akbar Bhat

Chairman Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement Zaffer Akbar Bhat Friday said that the resolution of Kashmir issue can only guarantee peace in South Asia and on Indo-Pak borders, so it is necessary for both the countries to come forward for its early resolution.According to a statement issued to KNS, addressing a gathering in Talengam Pulwama after Friday Prayers Zaffer Akbar Bhat paid rich tributes to martyrs particularly to Shaheed Gulzar Ahmad, Shaheed Sahrief-u-din. Zaffer Akbar accompanied by party leaders including Aijaz Ahmad, Shahmeem Ahmad others led a huge rally from the Jamia Masjid up to martyr’s graveyard. Hundreds of people particularly youth participated in the rally and raised pro-freedom and Pro-Islam slogans.Addressing the gathering Zaffer Akbar Bhat appealed India and Pakistan to come forward for the early resolution of decades old Kashmir issue that has endangered peace in South Asia.”Since past seven decades, endless blood had been spilled within the valley and on the borders and it will continue till Kashmir gets resolved as per the aspirations of Kashmiri people.” He said.

Commenting on recent indo-pak border tension, Zaffer said that peace on borders or in south Asia Peace can’t be guaranteed till Kashmir gets resolved and solution to Kashmir issue would not be achieved unless India and Pakistan will take into confidence the sentiment of 'freedom' being expressed by the people of the valley.He extended support to strike call announced by the trade federation and said that Indian government failed to rehabilitate flood victims of last year despite passage of a year. He ridiculed Indian government for blocking the aid at the time of crises.He also condemned continuous human rights violations being perpetrated by the forces in Kashmir and castigated forces for detained youth in the district.Zaffer urged International community to naïve flood sufferers of Kashmir and urged them to help in release of illegally detained Kashmiris youths and Hurriyat leaders, who have been arrested during past few weeks. He also slammed authorities for slapping PSA on  Masrat Aalam Bhat and brother of Shaheed Mohd Maqbool Bhat. Zaffer Akbar Bhat said that New Delhi was using draconian laws to suppress the freedom struggle of Kashmir; however he said that despite odds Kashmir’s freedom struggle will be taken to its logical conclusion.
