Syed Altaf Bukhari directs removal of barbed wire from Mubarak Mandi complex

‘No vehicle should be parked inside complex’

The Minister for Public Works, Floriculture, Gardens and Parks, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari instructed the officers to remove the barbed wire from Mubarak Mandi complex and asked the law enforcing agencies to ensure that the vehicles should not be parked inside the complex.MLA Jammu East Rajesh Gupta, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Simrandeep Singh, IGP Jammu Danish Rana, Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation Mandeep Kaur, Executive Director Mubarak Mandi Heritage Society Rajesh Khajuria, Vice Chairman JDA Mubarak Singh, Additional District Development Commissioner Jammu, Anuradha Gupta and officers of Floriculture department and other departments were also present in the meeting.He asked the officials of the Department of Floriculture to renovate the benches and repair the non-functional fountains in Mubarak Mandi Park on fast track basis.

The Minister said that as per the guidelines of the Supreme Court, parks are meant to be used for public purposes only and the tents being laid by police department in the parks should be removed within 10 days.He instructed that fine should be imposed on the violators who park vehicles in the complex.

During the meeting, he directed the officials to remove encroachments along the drains in Gandhi Nagar.Referring to the menace of illegal parking in the complex, the Minister clarified that there is no provision of parking in the complex and some unscrupulous elements charge money for providing parking space which is illegal.
