Minister for Tourism, Ghulam Ahmad Mir has said that fulfilling of peoples aspirations and developmental needs receiving focused attention of the government adding that implementation of flagship programmes revamped basic amenities especially in rural and hilly areas to a large magnitude in the State.This was stated by the Minister today while addressing public meetings at Nowgam, Batagund and Ponzo in Anantnag. He said by the implementation of MGNREGA, NRHM, RAMSA, RGGVY, PMGSY and other centrally sponsored Schemes in the State has given a better fillip in up- gradation and expansion of education, healthcare, road connectivity, power and drinking water facilities across the State during past 5 years of the present regime.Tourism Minister said the distinct tourism potential of the State is being showcased through promotional campaigns in and outside the Country to attract tourists to the visit of the State round the year. He said in this regard new attraction is being created besides virgin spots thrown open, with focused attention on upgradation of tourist related infrastructure and adventure sports activities in all the three regions of the State.

Meanwhile during the extensive tour of Dooru Constituency, the Minister took stock of people’s problems and developmental needs. He underscored the need for time bound completion of all on-going projects for early benefits of the people in the constituency and asked concerned executing agencies to work with more dedication and zeal to achieve cent-present developmental targets.The Minister also exhorted upon the sectorial officers to ensure mass public awareness of different welfare programmes launched by the government for weaker sections. He called upon the people to come forward and take maximum benefits of these Schemes.
