District Development Commissioner Kathua Ramesh Kumar today convened a meeting to discuss the arrangements for Kailash Yatra.ADDC Kathua Manmohan Singh, CEO, Lakahnpur Sathal Development Authority, Dr Bharat Bhushan, SDM Bani Rajesh Basotra, DYSP (DAR) Kuljeet Singh, DYSP (PTS), CPO Ram Rattan and district and sectoral officers were present in the meeting.The annual Kailash Yatra will commence from 1st September and will end on 12th September in tehsil Bani of Kathua district.Chairman Jammu Prayatan Vikas Mandal, Ravi Mahajan, Chairman Tourism Promotion Council V.K Sehgal, Chairman Bhaderwah Tour & Travel Association B.B Kotwal, Vice President Kailash Sewa Sangh trust & members of langar committees were also present in the meeting.
DDC Ramesh Kumar stressed for making elaborate arrangements for hassle free Yatra for the pilgrims. He directed BDO Bani to take up necessary repair of the path from Chatter Gala to Chattri- enroute to Kailash kund and also to install temporary toilets on the yatra route. He asked CMO to ensure that all Primary Heath Centres are equipped with medicines and staff to meet any emergency. Directions were also issued to DFO Billawar to provide firewood for langar, Police for adequate security arrangements for yatra and PHE to make potable water points. PDD has been directed to ensure regular electricity supply at langar sties and yatra route and to install generator set at Chatter-galan.SDM Bani was directed to maintain directory with helpline numbers to monitor the Yatra in better way.DDC asked Lakahnpur Sarthal Development Authority and Information Department to ensure wider publicity of Yatra.
