Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Trainings, Ch. Lal Singh, today paid visit to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu and enquired about the welfare of the civilians injured in the  Pakistan firing on International border at  R.S Pura sector.Secretary Health and Medical Education, Dr. Mandeep Bhandari and Principal GMC, Dr. Ghanshyam Dev Gupta accompanied the Minister. The Minister was informed that 14 civilians admitted at GMC with multiple injuries due to border firing and are undergoing treatment.The Minister interacted injured and enquired about their well being. He   directed the GMC authorities to provide free and best treatment to them and wished for their speedy recovery.While conveying his sympathies with those families whose kins have died due to unprovoked firing on International Border in R. S. Pura sector on Friday, the Minister said he will take up matter with the State and Central Governments for establishment of separate township for the residents residing near the border at Hiranagar, R. S Pura, Arnia and also at Poonch and Rajouri districts in view of the frequent firings from across the border.

Sharing the pain and agony of the people of shelling hit areas, Lal Singh said that the situation created by frequent ceasefire violations by Pakistan has shattered   the life of border residents. He said every citizen of the State and country is with them at this moment of anxiety and Government was doing everything possible for their welfare. He said Government is aware and very much concerned about the loss to the standing crops, residential houses , studies of the children have badly suffered and the circumstances that have forced to leave their homes.The Minister said the civil and police administrations have been directed to camp in RS Pura and make arrangements for accommodating the   border people who have forced to abandon their homes. He informed that Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and Police officers of RS Pura town have been directed to   provide on spot compensation to the injured and also to those civilians whose houses have been extensively damaged.
