Acharya Devvrat Governor said that primary objective of education was instilling human values among children and added that huge responsibility rested on the shoulders of teachers who carried out the most important task of nation building. He was speaking in a two day workshop of Principals of Himachal Shiksha Samiti organised by Saraswati Vidya Mandir at Vikasnagar here today. Acharya Devvrat said that Indian civilization was most ancient as well as richest and added that most glorious aspect of the civilization was that it focussed upon instilling humanitarian values (maanav nirmaan) in individuals by developing inspiring qualities like empathy, compassion and sensitivity which strengthened spirit of oneness and brotherhood and promoted peace in the society.Lauding the ancient Gurukul Parampara, he said that teachers were regarded as pillars of light who dedicated their lives to the sole task of shaping the destinies of the children. He said that along with physical development focus was laid upon mental and spiritual development of students in the tradition. The Gurukul Parampara contributed towards building responsible individuals besides a self reliant society as it was employment oriented also, he said. He said that teachers should be sincere towards their duties and live upto the expectations of guardians.
Values like discipline, patriotism, spirit of service, respecting teachers and elders should be integral part of the curriculum without that education is incomplete, he said. They should be made aware of their own rich culture and glorious history and a sense of pride towards their culture should be inculcated, he added. Education should aim at complete development of students equipping them knowledge and qualities to face toughest challenges of life and ensuring that was the major responsibility of teachers, he said. Governor also launched the website of Himachal Shiksha Samiti. Thakur Achar Singh Regional Head Himachal Shiksha Samiti welcomed the Governor and briefed about the activities of the Samiti.Shri Rajendra Bhatt President Managing Committee proposed vote of thanks.A colourful cultural programme was also presented by students on the occasion.Shri Shiv Kumar Rashtriya Mantri Vidya Bharti, Shri Hemchandra Kshetriya Sangathan Mantri Vidya Bharti, Shri Ganesh Dutt, Shri Mahavir Verma Principal Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Participants of the workshop, teachers, students and officers of State Government were present.Acharya Devvrat also inspected the progress of Rajbhawan Guest House which is under construction.
