Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar on Monday said India will come out with a "comprehensive" Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs) plan that will focus on mitigation as well as adaptation.Interacting with the media here ahead of the UN conference of climate change in Paris, he said India was in the "advanced" stage of submitting its INDCs."We are at an advanced stage of our preparation of INDC which will focus on both adaptation and mitigation apart from technology and capacity building. In the last eight months, widest consultations have taken place with all ministries, research institutes, thin thanks and institutions," Javadekar said.

"Our INDCs will be comprehensive," the minister said adding that numerous countries who have submitted their INDCs have talked only about mitigation whereas the world has accepted that mitigation and adaptation both carry equal importance."We have created two separate templates for it. So, all elements will be part of our INDCs like mitigation, adaptation, finance, technology and capacity building. This is the mandate of UNFCCC (Framework Convention on Climate Change) and India's INDC will reflect this mandate," he said.Javadekar further said that India will not announce its peaking (peak emission) year, as its per capita emission was very low.A total of 56 countries, including US, China and the European Union which are the world's top three polluters have released their INDCs in the run up to the Paris conference which will pave the way for a global climate pact. All countries are expected to submit their INDCs by October 1.
