Asking youth to stand on their feet and become self-sufficient, former minister and Chairman Democratic Party Nationalist Ghulam Hassan Mir Sunday said that he will continue work for the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He also alleged BJP-PDP dispensation has pushed the younger generation into uncertainty and hopelessness.According to KNS correspondent Mir while addressing a concluding function of a local cricket tournament in Kunzar Tangmarg said: “The youth of J&K has given sacrifices at every stage of Kashmir’s present history. It is the youth who has born the major brunt of uncertain situation in the state. They had hoped their miseries will end, but they only found themselves to be pushed to wall and graveyards. There is only injustice and hopelessness everywhere, and our youth feels to be failed by the government,”
Mir said that he has never been power hungry and will continue to work for the welfare of the people. “I am not power hungry at all I want to work for the betterment of the people especially for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir,”.Mir also took strong dig at Mufti Mohammad Sayeed led government claiming the much-hyped coalition government has dashing the hopes of people, particularly youth, by making false promises with them. “Mufit government is doing everything to push people back to early 1990’s like situation. People are feeling insecure. The situation is going from bad to worse, and the Muti-led government is failing people on every front,” he alleged. He said PDP-BJP government must give people the sense of security. “Our youth are pushed towards jails, graveyards, and gun-culture. This should be a grave cause of concern for the government,” he said. (KNS)
