Senior Hurriyat leader and Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement Chairman Zaffer Akbar Bhat Sunday described India's move to call off talks with Pakistan unfortunate and said that it vindicates the stand of Hurriyat leadership that New Delhi has a “confrontationist'” policy on Kashmir.“It is very unfortunate that Indian government has called off NSA level talks and by calling off the talks it has vindicated our stand that New Delhi never desired to resolve Kashmir peacefully," Akbar told participants of the meeting conveyed hurriedly by the party in Srinagar. He said that by calling of the talks, India has also exposed its confrontationist Kashmir policy due which Kashmir stands unresolved and threat to peace and stability of South Asia prevails.

Zaffer termed Indian political leadership immature and said that Indian government is hell bent upon to make the situation of whole region more volatile. “Kashmir conflict is itself imminent threat to peace and stability of South Asia. If they can’t resolve Kashmir peace can’t be guaranteed in the region,” Zaffer said.He said that people of Jammu and Kashmir are stakeholders in the Kashmir issue and without their participation, the dialogue process would not succeed neither Indo-Pak countries can improve their bilateral relationship. While thanking Pakistan for taking a positive stand, Bhat said the country has also vindicated the stand of Kashmiri pro-freedom leadership that until genuine leadership of Kashmiris is not involved in the dialogue process, the process can’t yield fruitful results.Meanwhile Salvation Movement condemned the detention of youth in Redwani, Kulgam and Pulwama areas of South Kashmir and demanded their unconditional release.
