DDC convenes VMC meeting, inspects developmental works

To take stock of problems and achievements of Kendra Vidyalaya School, Chenani, Udhampur, the District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary chaired Vidyalaya Management Committee (VMC) meeting at  KVS, Chenani, here today.SDM, Chenani, Mr D K Sharma, Principal, KV Chanani, Members of VMC attended the meeting.Threadbare discussions were held on various issues put forth by the principal which include progress of construction work of new Kendriya Vidyalaya building, leveling of land for sports by IL&FS, pathway, budget, shortage of funds for contractual salary, providing safety and security as per SOP of KVS, toilet facilities and construction of additional staff quarters.

During the meeting, the DDC who is chairman of the VMC reviewed the progress and academic achievement made during the last fiscal. He also interacted with the students of the school on the occasion. He announced various measures to be taken immediately by district administration for students which included providing inverter, electrical & fitting, transportation, music equipment and sports facilities.The DDC directed the CPWD officers to ensure completion of KV building by November 2015 to ensure that classes for next session are planned in the new premises for ensuring better facilities and accommodation.Dr Shahid also paid a visit to New KVS construction site, to access progress of the ongoing construction work of new building of the Kendriya Vidyalaya, Chenani. He  gave necessary instructions to the engineers of the executing agency to not to compromise  with the quality of work and asked to accelerate the tempo of construction work  so that it could be completed in stipulated time frame.

Later, the DDC visited Community health centre, Chenani where he inspected the functioning of the hospital. He checked all the wards, operation theater and recovery room of the hospital. It was decided that building will be inaugurated in a fortnight and existing CHC shall be shifted to new building which has been constructed by JKPCC. The DDC also visited SDM office and enquired about public grievances and demands.The DDC inspected Champari to Chenani road and BDO office chenani to new KV school building roads and directed to the executing agencies for corrective measures. He also expressed serious concern over rampant muck dumping along national highway by tunnel construction contractors and directed the officers to impose recovery for damages.
