Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Aasiya Naqash, accompanied by the officers of SMC, UEED, PHE, PDD, R&B, today, conducted an extensive tour of Hazratbal Constituency and took stock of the basic amenities available to the people there.She visited interior areas of Sheikh Molalla, Sir Syed Colony, Jenab Sahib Soura, Haider Colony Buchpora, Illahi Bagh, Shiekh Colony Kathidarwaza, Khojyarbal, Mohalla Hati Khan, Martyrs Memorial Park, Central Jail and other adjoined areas.During her visit, the locals of these areas met the Minister and apprised about scarcity of drinking water, repairs of link roads, construction of drains, and Community Halls, replacement of old electric polls, installation of new transformers and street lights besides other problems they are facing.
The Minister heard them patiently and assured that their genuine problems will be addressed in a time bound manner. She said that issues will be taken up with the concerned authorities for early redressal.The Minister asked Joint Commissioner, SMC to ensure installation of street lights and proper sanitation in these areas.She also inspected dewatering Pump Station at Saida Kadal and Illahi Bagh Buchpora besides ongoing construction work of drainage system. She asked executing agency to speed up the work and ensure timely completion of the said project. She was informed that the construction work of Sheikh Colony, Kathi Darwaza road will be completed within 20 days.
