Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Dr. Pawan Kotwal, today held a detailed meeting with Police, District Administration and Venue Supervisors for finalizing arrangements with regard to the conduct of Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination scheduled to be held on 23.08.2015.  Apart from Danish Rana, IGP Jammu, S Simrandeep Singh, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Rajeev Pandey, SP Jammu, Supervisors of 14 venues attended the meeting.Instructions with regard to frisking of candidates with the help of male and female police personnel, providing of scribes for visually handicapped/LDCP candidates, granting of additional time for the LDCP candidates, seating arrangements, dispatch of examination material, receipt and opening of question papers, provision of electricity, water supply and cleanliness of venue / examination halls were given. 

The Divisional Commissioner also instructed that no candidate be allowed to enter the examination hall after 10 minutes of the commencement of the examination.  No functionary has any discretion in this regard as per the directions of Union Public Service Commission.  The candidates in this regard have already been informed by the UPSC to be present at the venue well in time so that they do not miss the exam.  Similarly no candidate should be allowed to leave the examination hall until expiry of full allotted time for the paper.No candidate should be allowed to enter the examination hall with any electronic gadget, mobiles, Bluetooth, calculator etc.  Any electronic gadget brought by the candidate shall be seized and kept outside the premises and no official of Police or college administration shall be responsible for the safety of the gadget.  

Any loss of mobile etc, if brought to the venue shall be the sole responsibility of the candidate.  Elaborate instructions in this regard have already been issued by the UPSC to the candidates and the same are even printed on the admit cards of candidates.All the candidates appearing in the exam should bring their ADMIT CARDS and BLACK BALL POINT PEN for writing the exam.  In case of non-availability of Admit Card the candidates should bring their identity proof.  The Divisional Commissioner also directed the venue supervisors to make arrangements for LDCP candidates on the ground floor and in a separate room so that they are not disturbed in their extra time of 40 minutes per session allotted by the Commission.
