A meeting of Petitions Committee of Legislative Council was held here today under the chairmanship of MLC, Jugal Kishore to discuss different petitions pertaining to relief and rehabilitation, land compensation and restoration of ownership rights of migrant land.Legislators, Mr. Vikram Aditya Singh and Mr. Charanjeet Singh were also present in the meeting and gave their suggestions.Discussion was held on the issue of relief to victims of September 2014 floods of village Panjar, Sadal in district Udhampur. In this regard a complaint was filed by the Sarpanch of the said village before the Petitions Committee in which he had stated that the said village was ignored by the concerned relief agencies during the process.The Committee decided to call Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur and Revenue authorities in next meeting.
