Minister for Health & Medical Education, Ch. Lal Singh, today reviewed the progress of legal cases pertaining to the health ministry which are pending in various courts at a high-level meeting, held here under his chairmanship.Advocate General, J&K, Mr. Jehangir Ganai, Commissioner/Secretary Health & Medical Education, Dr. Mandeep Bhandari, Director General ISM, Dr. Abdul Kabir Dar, Principal GMC, Kashmir, Dr. Rafiq Pampori, Principal GMC, Jammu, Dr. Ghanshyam Gupta, Principal Dental College, Srinagar, Dr. Riyaz Farooq, Principal Dental College, Jammu, Dr. Romesh Singh, Directors Health Services, Kashmir/Jammu, Dr. Sameer Mattoo, Dr. Baljeet Pathania, Director Family Welfare, Dr. Baldev Sharma, CMOs and other officers attended the meeting.
The Minister discussed the status of each case pending in different courts and called upon the Advocate General and officers to work in close coordination for the expeditious disposal of all court cases. He impressed upon the Commissioner/Secretary Health & Medical Education to have regular review of pending cases in different wings of the department to ensure their quick disposal. He stressed the need for making Legal Officers accountable to ensure quick disposal of legal cases in different wings of the department. The Advocate General briefed the Minister about the status of pending cases and assured to deal every case on its merit and their expeditious disposal. He assured regular monitoring of cases at different level to achieve the desired results.
