The Committee on Public Accounts of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Monday directed the executing agency Jammu and Kashmir Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC) and the officers of Health and Medical Education (H&ME) department to speed up the pace of work on all ongoing hospital buildings and ensure their completion within a stipulated time frame.The Committee, which met under the Chairmanship of MLA Mian Altaf Ahmad here today, discussed the functioning of H&ME department besides examine CAG’s audit paras pertaining to their department.The Chairman directed the concerned to utilize the available funds properly under the prescribed guidelines.
Legislators, M. Y. Tarigami, Mohammad Khalil Bandh, Aijaz Ahmad Khan, Satpaul Sharma, Rajiv Sharma, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi, Shah Mohammad Tantray and Zaffar Iqbal Manhas attended the meeting and gave their suggestions for further improvement in the working of the health and medication education department.Threadbare discussion was held on various issues including drainage system, cleanliness in and around the all health institutions.
The panel directed the concerned to ensure patient care.Among others, Accountant General, AG’s Office, J&K, Director, Health Services Kashmir, Mission Director, National Health Mission, Additional Secretary, Health and Medical Education, Principal, Government Medical Education and other concerned officers of H & ME, Finance and Assembly Secretariat were present in the meeting.
