Primary Education Most Important For A Child- Dr Daljit Cheema

Dr Daljit Singh Cheema today said that primary education is one of the most important aspect for a child. He said that good quality primary education acts as a strong and stable foundation for a child. Dr Cheema said this while attending a function organised by Punjab Vidhan Sabha speaker Dr Charanjit Singh Atwal at village Rara Sahib, here today. While speaking on the occasion, Dr Daljit Singh Cheema also lauded the efforts of Guru Nanak Educational and Religious Society which has adopted 80 government schools in Rara Sahib and Payal area. He said that such societies are acting as torch bearers of our society and it is due to their hard work in the field of education, our children are getting quality education.

Addressing the gathering, the Education Minister said that strengthening primary education is need of the hour and even the state government under the able leadership of Chief Minister Mr Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy CM Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal is working in this field. He said that he is personally taking interest in this regard.Dr Charanjit Singh Atwal said that wherever he goes across the globe, he urges the NRI community to contribute in education field. He urged the NRI's to deposit Rs 20 lakh in their bank accounts and donate the bank interest either to the village panchayat or to the school committee. He also thanked Guru Nanak Educational and Religious Society for adopting a total of 80 schools in the area, which comprises of 65 schools of Payal constituency and 15 of Gill constituency.

Baba Baljinder Singh, head of Rara Sahib Gurudwara, said that they would continue their quest of improving quality education in the state. He said that they, through their trust, have adopted 80 schools, and would adopt more in the days to come.On the occasion, 15-year-old Rajvir Singh, a resident of Siarh village of the district, was also honoured for clinching two gold medals in cycling events held at Special Olympics World Games held in Los Angeles (USA) recently.Prominent among those present on the occasion included Former MLA Mr Inder Iqbal Singh Atwal, SAD District (Rural) president Jathedar Santa Singh Umedpuri, Baba Jagroop Singh, Mr Manjit Singh Mehram, SGPC member Raghbir Singh Saharan Majra, former transport minister Tej Parkash Singh Kotli, besides several others.
