Naeem Akhtar visits educational institutions in Tangmarg

Inaugurates administrative block of GDC, reviews progress of beginning Model Schools

Minister for Education, Naeem Akhtar today visited several educational institutions here to take stock of the infrastructure and academic facilities.

He was accompanied by Mr Mohammad Abbas Wani, MLA Tangmarg, Director School Education Kashmir, Director Tourism Kashmir, Director SSA, Director RMSA, ADDC Baramulla and CEO Baramulla.The Minister visited Higher Secondary School Kunzar, Higher Secondary School Chandilora and Higher Secondary School Hardshoora which have been designated as Model Schools in the area.The Minister said that infrastructure for Model Higher Secondary School Kunzar would be developed by a private entrepreneur, under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), who is operating a starred hotel at the tourist resort of Gulmarg. He said the infrastructure for Model Higher Secondary School Chandilora would be developed by the local MLA, Mohammad Abbas Wani out of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and infrastructure for Model Higher Secondary School Hardshoora would be developed by local citizens including Mr Farooq Ahmad Shah, Director Tourism Kashmir.

Akhtar said all these Model Schools would be equipped with high-end infrastructure including computer lab and Smart Classes to enable the students of these schools get academic facilities at par with some of the best private educational institutions in Kashmir so that these can produce highly talented human resource.The Minister also inaugurated additional accommodation for High School Souchpalpora constructed under RMSA.During his visit the Minister also inaugurated Administrative Block of the Government Degree College Tangmarg and also reviewed the progress of work on the under-construction academic block of the college.Akhtar asked the Principal of the Degree College Tangmarg to start vocational courses in food technology, catering and guiding in collaboration with the Institute of Hotel Management Rajbagh, Srinagar. He said being a tourist resort such courses can provide jobs to the college pass-outs immediately.
