DC, SSP visit villages on LoC to redress public grievances

To redress public grievances, District Administration Poonch held grievance redressal camps for people living along the Line of Control (LoC) in village Digwar and Khari.Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Nisar Ahmed Wani, Senior Superintendent of Police, J S Johar, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Shafiq Ahmed Choudhary, Assistant Commissioner Development, Dr. Basharat Hussain, Chief Medical Officer, Mumtaz Bhatti, Chief Education Officer, Ch. Lal Hussain,  XEN PWD(R&B), Mushtaq Raina, XEN PDD, Nisar Choudhary, XEN PHE, Qayoom Choudhary, XEN  I&FC,  Mushtaq Choudhary other district officers, Sarpanches, Panches and local public attended the camps.

Apart from the day to day problems that people living along the LoC face, the officers of district administration got first hand information about the problems being faced by the villagers near LoC regarding civic amenities. People of Digwar and Khari voiced their concerns before concerned officers on issues pertaining to water and power supply, dilapidated condition of roads, menace of overloading, check on absenteeism and upgradation of schools, PHCs, construction of toilets under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, clearance of liability under MGNREGA besides restoration of damaged FJB at Digwar and issuance of ration cards as per 2011 census and malshumari.

Deputy Commissioner who responded to all their concerns said expeditious redressal of their grievances is administration's top most priority. He informed them that for the purpose of the issuance of ration the census figures of 2011 are being adopted and ration cards will be issued as per the 2011 census.Regarding restoration of damaged FJB at Digwar, the DDC informed the locals that tendering process has been initiated and the work of restoration will commence soon informing them further that for improving the conditions of roads in villages across the border fencing, the issue has already been brought to the notice of higher authorities in recently held Civil-Military liason meeting. The OC GREF was asked to take up necessary repair and resurfacing work in the villages along LoC.

With reference to erratic cellular connectivity,  Wani assured better BSNL services and told them that the issue of erratic BSNL service has been taken up with their Chief General Manager,who has assured improved services at the earliest. Wani also asked the PDD authorities to avoid unscheduled curtailment and directed the XEN PHE to ensure proper functioning of water supply schemes in the area. The officers of agriculture and horticulture departments were also given instructions for betterment of people by increased focus on border villages.Acknowledging the role of people living near LoC in securing national border, Senior Superintendent of Police asked them to remain ever vigilant to thwart the nefarious designs of enemies. He also addressed various other security concerns of the locals. Responding to the menace of overloading, the SSP asked them to immediately inform the authorities so that action is taken against the violators.
