The State Mission Director for ICDS Mukhtarul Aziz today convened held an interactive meeting with the CDPOs, Supervisory staff to review the overall performance of the projects in the district Kupwara.The Additional District Development Commissioner, Mr. M. Rehman Gasi who is also holding the charge of Programme Officer, ICDS briefed the visiting SMD about the functioning of the ICDS projects and AWCs in the district.The meeting was given out that under ICD and SABLA schemes 2320 Anganwari Centres are functioning besides 11 ICDS Projects in the district as many as 90840 nutrition beneficiaries are registered with the projects which include 2271 children, 46775 adolescent girls, 68130 children, 22710 adolescent girls under Sabla nutrition programme up to March 2015. As may B adolescent girls are being covered under SABLA.
The State Mission Director impressed upon the field workers for proper implementation of the ICDS schemes as the same is meant for the downtrodden families of the far-flung areas of the district, as yet the state government is spending Rs. 500 crore upon these schemes for providing the nutrition to the neediest of the state. He exhorted upon the concerned to work with dedication, as per the expectations of the people and as per the guidelines of the government.
He instructed the Additional District Development Commissioner, Kupwara (PO, ICDS) to paid the frequent visits of the ICDS projects and AWCs of the district for monitor the overall functioning of the projects. Several issues and demands of the field workers were discussed during the interaction meeting were assured that all the demands and issues would be resolved in pace mannerly in due course of time. The District Social Welfare officer, Kupwara, Peerzada Mumtaz, CDPOs, Supervisors and others were present on the occasion.
