The Agriculture Department today organized two awareness-cum- training programmes for the farmers of Latti zone. During the camps the farmers were informed about the latest technology in crop cultivation and various schemes being implemented in the area.The awareness camps organized under Kissan Jagriti Scheme, were held at hilly villages  Kirchi and latti  villages.Over 50 farmers including women farmers, local Sarpanch, Naib Sarpanch and Panches attended the camps.Agriculture extension officer (AEO) Latti,   Gopal Krishan Sharma along with Apiculture Assistant,   Ravinder Tripathi and  field staff also attend the camp.The  AEO Latti, while highlighting the role of Department,  gave a detailed overview of   different schemes being implemented by the department  for the betterment of farmers and increasing production and productivity. They were told about schemes and aid provided by the department for crop insurance, agricultural Machinery, setting up vermin-compost units through schemes like Kissan Credit Card (KCC) scheme, ATMA, RKVY and others. He also informed the farmers about soil testing facilities that are available at Chief Agriculture Office Udhampur.
