Abdul Haq reviews implementation of DDB decisions in Anantnag

Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Abdul Haq today reviewed the implementation of District Development Board decisions and the pace of developmental schemes at Anantnag. The Minister also reviewed the, action taken report on the commitments of the Chief Minister regarding Anantnag.Abdul Haq, who is also the chairman of DDB Anantnag, reviewed sector-wise physical and financial achievements registered under the district plan.He also reviewed the action taken by the concerned department for the implementation of the decisions taken in the DDB meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed last month.DDC Anantnag Mr. Bashir Ahmad Khan , Director Health Services, Director Education, Director Tourism, Chief Engineers of PHE, I&FC, R&B attended the meeting Besides, all District Officers were present.

The meeting was informed that in Anantnag Rs 186.15 crore are being utilized on development of public infrastructure in various sectors under the district plan during current financial year. It was given out in the meeting that DPR for development of “Brenji” road has been prepared and will be submitted in 10 days. The vaccines for 207 Hepatitis-C patients of Kokernag area are being procured. Children upto 5 years age are immunized for Hepatitis-B. Status of macadamization of Achabal-Anantnag, Krad-Seer Hamdan road was also discussed in the meeting. 10th September, 2015 was set as deadline for completion of “Bumzoo water supply scheme”. It was also stated that DPR for Solid Waste Management by Housing & Urban Development Department will be finalized in coming days for the purpose of which consultants have already been engaged.The action taken reports with regard to renovation of “Nowshera hut”, Sadura bridge, Tourism gateway, Qazigund, adoption of HSS schools by MLAs/ MLCs and starting of skill development courses in GDC Anantnag were also discussed.

Haq directed the officers to strictly implement all the decisions taken in the DDB meting to ensure better results under different state and centrally sponsored programmes. He directed the officers to submit the status report of the works listed by the local legislators and cautioned the officers against any laxity in this regard and said that fulfilling public aspirations is the priority of Government. He directed for keeping a strict check on quality of works as every effort should be made to create sustainable assets catering to area specific developmental needs.It was revealed in the meeting that under MGNREGA against an allocation of Rs 3929 lacs, an amount of 790.31 lacs has been spent till July 2015 resulting in completion of 1856 works and generation of 25861 mandays. Under IAY, against an allocation of Rs 1170 lacs and availability of Rs 203 lacs, 0.74 lacs have been spent till July 2015 which has resulted in taking up works of 2745 hutments. Under SSA against an availability of Rs 453 lacs for construction of primary school buildings and Rs 424 lacs have been spent. Likewise, under Swach Bharat Mission, against an availability of Rs 32.39 lacs, Rs 14.35 lacs have been spent resulting in construction of 1862 individual household latrines.It was also given out that black topping of 10 kms road length is being done under district sector and 3 new schemes worth Rs 1.43cr have been sanctioned under RIDF.

The action taken report with regard to commitments made by  Chief Minister pertaining to wild life, Education, Horticulture, Tourism, Landscaping of Sports ground in GDC Bijbehara, Renovation & illumination of Rani Bagh Park , Sherbagh, Yatri Niwas providing of men and machinery to MMAB, District Hospital, Shifting of Fruit Mandi, Betab Valley, Improvement of Lidder valley, Golf Course were also reviewed.The convergence of various schemes under MGNREGA also came under discussion and it was informed that a workshop for BDOs and AEEs of South Kashmir (Anantnag, Kulgam, Pulwama and Shopian) would be organized on 23rd August.The Minister stressed upon the concerned officers to achieve optimum results within set time frame for development of core sectors in the District. He underscored the need for paying focused attention to the improvement of road connectivity, drinking water, power supply, education and health care facilities equally across District.
