Manikantha Raj of South Central Railway and Srabani Anand of East Coast Railway were declared the best athletes among men and women, respectively in the 81st Railways Athletic Championship at the newly laid track of Sports Authority of India in Bhopal today. Both athletes were give a cash award of Rs 10,000 each.Western Railway bagged the best overall performance of All Units Kaul Gold Cup while the second best overall performance of All Units Western Railway Cup runners title went to Central Railway.
Western Railway lifted the men's team championship by logging 123 points while Southern Railway were runners-up with 107 points. The third position went to Northern Railway with 51 points.Central Railway emerged winners for the women's team trophy by securing 116 points. Western Railway finished runners-up with 112 points while Southern Railway bagged third place with 62 points.
