Governor N.N. Vohra spoke to Sh. D.K. Pathak, DG BSF, and Sh. Rakesh Sharma, IG BSF (Jammu) and congratulated them on the laudable response of their personnel who were attacked by the terrorists near Udhampur yesterday. While conveying his sympathy to the next of kin of the two personnel who were martyred in the encounter he particularly lauded the heroic role played by Constable ‘Rocky’. The Governor wished early recovery to those injured in the attack.Observing that this attack aims at reviving terrorism in the Jammu region, the Governor urged enhanced surveillance on all fronts, particularly in re-enforcing the Counter Terrorism grid along the entire IB. Besides speaking with DG, BSF, the Governor spoke in this regard with Lt. Gen D.S. Hooda, Northern Army Commander, Sh. K.Rajendra, DG J&K and Sh. S.K. Bhagat, Spl. DG CRPF.

Meanwhile, S.K. Bhagat, Special Director General, CRPF, J&K Zone, called on Governor N. N. Vohra, here at the Raj Bhavan today. This was  Bhagat’s first meeting with the Governor aftertaking over the charge.The Governor discussed with the DG issues relating to the terror attack at Udhampur yesterday and the need for enforcing heightened vigilance. He also discussed with Bhagat the security arrangements for the ongoing Amarnathji Yatra.The Governor wished a successful tenure to DG Bhagat. (GNS)
