A one day Farmers Camp was organized by Department of Agriculture, Jammu at village Dhok Banyar, Sunderbani, Sub-Division, Nowshera .A large gathering of Sarpanchs, Panchs and Progressive Farmers of the Dhok Banyar and adjoining villages participated in the programme. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Younis Choudhary, Chief Agriculture Officer Rajouri said that the field functionaries of the department are reaching out to the farmers of every village to generate awareness about advance farm technology and schemes in agriculture. He said farmers should come forward to take the benefits of the subsidies for the Bower System, Bio-Gas Units, Vermi-compost structures, Apiculture Units, Mushroom Units, Storage Godowns, Borewells, Irrigation Pumpsets under various schemes being implemented by the department.Besides technical session on scientific cultivation of the crops there was a detailed interaction and discussion on implementation of various programmes for the welfare of farming community. Special stress was laid by the department for promotion of pulses, oilseeds and cultivation of vegetables especially mushroom growing.
