Reiterated that government is committed to provide basic amenities including better healthcare facilities at every nock and corner of the State on modern lines, the Minister for Forest, Environment and Ecology said that revolutionary steps are being taken for expansion and upgradation of healthcare facilities and infrastructure across the State. He said that Kangan Constituency will be facilitated with best healthcare infrastructure equipped with latest facilities.The Minister said this while addressing a large gathering after inaugurating Mini Maternity Centre(MMC) equipped with centrally heated system and other modern facilities including pre-Natal and post Natal  care units constructed at a  cost of Rs. 3.40 crore at Wayil Nunner in Kangan Constituency here on Wednesday.

The Minister was also accompanied by the Minister of State for Health, Mr. Shabir Ahmad Khan.New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC) constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.89 crore at Gutlibagh, area of Ganderbal District was also dedicated to the people of the area.Mian Altaf said that by establishment of these healthcare institutions the people of the area would be benefitted at large and maternity related cases would be handled and treated in a better way besides reducing the referral of patients to other hospitals.The Minister said development of Kangan constituency has already been initiated and government will not leave any stone unturned for its development and socio-economic upliftment .Mian Altaf said that all health institutions will be provided with adequate medical and paramedical staff.Shabir Ahmad Khan, in his address  said that government is aiming to achieve the goal of providing accessible and quality healthcare to the people particularly living in far-flung and remote areas.

He said government has also taken various measures to provide specialists, doctors, staff nurses and other para-medics in the health institutions to improve health care service to the people, adding that various incentives are also being given to the doctors and other paramedics working in far-off health institutions and emphasized for utilization of facilities being made available in health the sector under various flagships programmes launched across the State.Mr. Shabir also said that as many as 400 new health centres are in pipeline across the State by which every block of the State and people living in these areas would get improved healthcare facilities.Later, Mian Altaf inaugurated the new building of Govt Secondary School, Arch Ganderbal constructed at a cost of Rs. 1 crore. The Minister said that providing quality education is among top priorities of the present Government and assured the school authorities for every possible support for the upgradation and development of school infrastructure.While interacting with the students and staff of the said institution, the Minister exhorted upon the teachers to inculcate and imbibe the students with moral and ethical education besides imparting them quality education so make them better citizens and nation builders.Mission Director NRHM, Director ISM, Deputy Director Health Services Kashmir, officers of Health, Education, R&B and other departments were present on the occasion.
