Health Secretary visits SKIMS Bemina Assures safety, security in Hospital

To ensure that SKIMS Medical College Bemina functions normally and caters to the needs of the patients, Secretary, Health and Medical Education Dr. Mandeep Kumar Bhandari along with Director SKIMS, Dr. Showkat Zargar this evening visited the hospital and spoke with patients, doctors and other paramedical staff.The Health Secretary said that a sacred relationship exists between doctors and patients and this relationship should be safeguarded at all costs. He assured that safety of both the patients as well as the doctors is of paramount importance and Government shall take all necessary steps to safeguard their interests.He said that doctors, students and other hospital staff should not panic and all hospital operations should be started immediately. He said measures will be taken to restore confidence of the doctors and the paramedical staff and any requirement with regard to strengthening of the security in the hospitals shall be taken up with the higher authorities so that work in the hospital is carried in a professional and secure manner without any feeling of threat or harassment.
