Bhalla visits Ompora Colony

Minister for Housing, Culture and Horticulture, Raman Bhalla said that funding has never been on constraint for the present government when it comes to developmental projects. However, the pre-requisite condition is peaceful atmosphere for ensuring progress and prosperity in the State. Hailing the efforts of central government in focusing infrastructure development, he said that under PMGSY, J&K is the only State where compensation for acquired land for road connectivity is provided to the land owners.He was speaking at Ompora Housing Colony, Budgam during a visit to review the facilities being made available to the inhabitants there. The residents of the colony presented various demands before the Minister who was accompanied by MLA Budgam Syed Aga Ruhullah and Managing Director Housing Board, Mr. Rampal Sharma concerned district officers of district Budgam.The Minister directed the concerned officers to ensure black topping of roads and lanes inside the colony asked for proper drainage system including both surface and deep drains.The Minister directed the officers of Housing Board for constructing of a community park in the colony on modern lines. MLA Budgam, Aga Ruhullah proposed an alternate route to the colony via Sheikhpora for the convenience of residents of Ompora colony and the Minister assured to take up the issue with Roads and Buildings department. MLA concerned further said that the facilities in the Housing Colony should grow in proportion to the growth of human population and provision of basic amenities like electricity, road connectivity, drainage shall also be ensured facilitate the residents of the Colony.A Community Centre shall also be jointly constructed by Housing Board and department of Local Bodies, the Minister announced. Additional District Development Commissioner, Budgam was also accompanying the Minister.
