106 bundles of Govt. steel wire recovered from house of official

Police on Sunday recovered 106 bundles of steel wire worth lakhs of Rs from the house of a forest official here in Papchan area of North Kashmir's Bandipora district.After receiving specific information Bandipora police on Sunday morning raided house of one Qayoom Shah an official in Forest Range office Ajas and recovered 106 bundles of steel wire usually used for fencing of demarcated forest areas.Police said that the recovered wire has been illegally dumped by concerned forest officers from last four years later to be sold in black market.

Reliable sources said that an officer who dumped wire illegally called police to remove his successor as later stands attached from last one year.Locals have appealed people to investigate matter without any influence and bias in order to save the government property.Meanwhile Superintend of Police Bandipora Muhmmad Shabir Chowdary said the recovered wire has been dumped by officials from last few years."We have recovered 106 bundles of steel wire illegally dumped in the house of a first official dumped in last few years" SP said adding, “we have initiated an investigation in the matter."
