Minister of State for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Nazir Ahmad Gurezi today visited various areas included Dawar and Mastan in Tehsil Gurez and took stock of various developmental projects and grievances of people.Addressing series of public gatherings at different places, the Minister said that the government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has registered remarkable achievements in every sector during last five years. He said that the construction work on various micro and macro projects are apace in the state adding that on completion of these projects, socio-economic condition of the people will improve besides creating employment opportunities for unemployed educated youth.The Minister said that a good number of State and Centrally Sponsored Schemes have been launched in the State and asked the people to come forward and avail benefits of these schemes.Mr. Gurezi said Government has fulfilled its most promises and will continue to work to full all commitments. He said though unemployment remains a big challenge for the government; however several major initiatives have been taken in this regard.En-route, several deputations met the Minister and apprised him about their inpidual and collective problems. These included providing of helicopter service, from Srinagar to Gurez and Bandipora to Gurezi for the convenience of the people especially patients and students in view of closure of Bandipora-Gurez road, during winter months, stocking of sufficient medicines and essential commodities.Mr. Gurezi gave them a patient hearing and assured them that their genuine demands will be looked into.A team of senior officers and engineers accompanied the Minister during his visit.
