During the special drive from July 28 to July 30, 2015, the Department of Drug and Food Control Organization Kashmir division inspected 181 Medical shops in various districts of Kashmir division.During the drive Licences of 20 Medical Shops have been suspended for violation of various provisions of Drug and Food Control Act, 1940 and 14 Medical Shops were put on the show cause notices. The Chemist fraternity during the special drive was strictly directed to maintain sale and purchase records of drugs, store drugs as per their requirement and to supply drugs only on presentation of prescription and to issue Cash Memo’s strictly.Moreover, the Department has also lifted 29 samples of various categories of drugs from Government and Private Establishments, Wholesalers and Retailers for test and analyse  in order to ascertain their quality.In case of any complaint with regard to Drugs and Medical Shops, the general public is requested to lodge complaint on the helpline of the department of Drug and Food Control Kashmir on Phone No. 0194-2495191.
