Former Minister who recently resigned from Congress party Wednesday said that Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee is a bunch of ‘corrupt’ leaders who are involved in big and infamous scandals.“Congress party in Jammu and Kashmir is on the brink of obliteration as most of its leaders, members and former Ministers are involved in big and infamous scandals. “These tainted leaders have destroyed the party in Jammu and Kashmir. The leaders who are at the helm of affairs are involved in so many corruption cases and it is irony that instead of showing door to these corrupt and scandalous leaders, the party is patronizing them,” Charak said during a press briefing in Srinagar.     The former Revenue Minister said that he will quit the Congress party for good if ‘corrupt’ leaders are not shown the door. “I may join another party or may create a new political party,” he said. Tainting guns at the incumbent government Charak said that PDP-BJP Government has failed to deliver the goods and it is not seen anywhere on the ground. “I used to work in triple shifts when I was the Minister but today work in a single shift is not being done,” he said.

Asking government to stop excesses and give a free hand to separatist leaders, Charak according to CNS said that he recently met several Hurriyat leaders and there is no denying in the fact that government has been muzzling the voice of Hurriyat leaders and have been keeping them under continuous house arrest. “India is a democracy and everyone has right to propagate his ideas. Government has been committing excesses on Hurriyat leaders and people and the process must be stopped at once,” he said. Responding to a question, Charak said that the follies committed by politicians have forced people to take up to arms in Kashmir. “We (politicians) are wrong and we commit blunders. If we work for people and do good for them, everything will be alright and there will be no violence or untoward incident. We have been reaping what we have sown in the past,” he said.Charak said that at least 21 Muslim youth had been arrested by Indian security agencies in Rajouri district recently. “I personally intervened and ensure their freedom from the custody,” he said adding that besides Hurriyat leaders he met several politicians including Muhammad Yousf Tarigami and Hakim Muhammad Yasin and all believe that present government is an utter failure.
