Parents of 14-year old boy whose body was found in a mutilated condition outside his village 25 days earlier have blamed police of going lax in investigations and trying to shield the actual culprits of the murder. As per KNS correspondent, boys of 14 year Aaqib Nabi Bhat son of Ghulam Nabi Bhat resident of Chabarpora Gugloosa Trehgam of district Kupwara was found in a mutilated condition near a plum tree in the village on July 3 three days after he went missing.Talking to KNS, father of the boy Ghulam Nabi Bhat said: “On July 1, my son along with four of his friends leaves for Taraveh Nimaz (evening prayers). As they reach near the house of one Mohammad Jamal Mir, they five boys start plucking plums from the plum tree. In the meantime, the house owners son come out of his house and four boys flee from spot leaving my son behind. This is what the four boys have told us. We kept looking for him for three days till we found his body near the same spot on July 3. Then police team from police station Trehgam comes and does post-mortem. They also sent samples for forensic investigations on the same day. But till now we didn’t see any report and a any headway in the case.”

Visibly broken father said that it took 18 days for police to register an FIR in the case. “I doubt police’s intention and their investigation. When body of my son was recovered on July 3, why was FIR lodged on July 21. No questioning was done to the four boys who accompanied my son that time. The house owner and his son outside whose house the body of my son was recovered were never questioned. They have not questioned anyone, how are they going to solve the case,” he said.

Meanwhile talking to KNS, an official of Police Station Trehgam said that police has registered a case vide no. 58/2015/Section 302 and has started the investigations. “We have questioned many people and are now waiting for the forensic science report. Once that comes we will able to establish the genesis of the case and hopefully will solve the case,” he said. (KNS)
