The Education Minister, Punjab, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema today honoured students achieving top positions in 10th and 12th standard examinations with cash prizes. In a prize distribution and career guidance function held at the Punjab School Education Board auditorium, meritorious students were awarded certificates.During the function joint toppers in 12th standard Science Group Darshveer Kaur Kalsi and Sayima Rashid, Topper in Arts Group Sarika, Topper in Commerce Group Sarvodya and Top achiever in Vocational Group Channpreet Singh were awarded a cash prize money of Rs. 1 Lakh each.The students achieving first 3 ranks in merit of 10thstandard namely Nitasha Agarwal, Nancy Bhadiar and Harmandeep Singh were also awarded with cash prize and students achieving top 3 positions in Sports merit Namrit Kaur, Shivam Kumar and Kirandeep Kaur (Joint 2nd position) and Student appearing on 3rdposition Kanchanpreet Kaur were given cash prizes of Rs. 1 Lakh, Rs. 75000 and Rs. 50000.
On the occasion, 3 Personalities associated with the Academic, Language and Literary field Dr. Kuldeep Singh, Sukhdev Madhopuri and D.P.I. Balbir Singh Dhol were also honoured.During the occasion, Chairperson of the Punjab School Education Board Mrs. Tejinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Vice- Chairman of the board Suresh Tandon, Career Guidance expert Dr. B.S. Ghuman, Director General School Education Pardeep Agarwal, Special Secretary of the Department Gurdeep Singh, Joint Secretary of the board Janak Raj, Director SCERT Sukhdev Singh Kahlon and Deputy Director Dr. Ginni Duggal and Raminderjit Singh Wasu were also present.
