The District Development commissioner, Kupwara Kumar Rajiv Ranjan today convened a meeting of officers, associated with the arrangements for smooth celebrations of forth coming Independence Day in district Kupwara. Additional District Development Commissioner, Kupwara Mr. M.M. Gasi, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Handwara, Police, CRPF, JKAP, Home Guard, Fire and Emergency services, Municipal Committee representatives were present in the meeting.It was decided in the meeting that the main function will be held in the District Police Lines Kupwara at 8.30 am by playing of Shahnaie- Waddan by District Information Centre, Kupwara, the flag hoisting ceremony by the Chief guest at 9 am followed by the inspection of the parade.
The march past will be presented by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police, Central Reserve Police Force, Home Guard, Fire and Emergency Services, Police Band, Forest Protection Force besides the contingents of school children of different educational institutions while the colourful cultural programmes will be the part of the programmes.The District Development commissioner, Kupwara impressed upon all the concerned agencies for making arrangements for successful conduct of the programme. The R&B, PHE, Municipal authorities were directed to arrange the seating's for guests, road repairs leading to DPL, drinking water facilities for visiting guests and participants and cleanliness. It was also decided that on 10th of August a meeting will be held to review the arrangements followed by full dress rehearsal at the venue on August,13th, 2015 at 9 am under the close supervision of the Additional District Development Commissioner.
