Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture Mr. Raman Bhalla has said that substantial sports infrastructure has been created across the State during last 5 years by the government to revive the sports culture and provide talented youth an opportunity to refine and showcase their skill.The Minister was addressing a large gathering at Channi Himmat Sector-7 after inaugurating Muscle Zone Health Club, here today.
Swami ShahilJiMaharaj, Managing Director Jammu and Kashmir Housing Board, Mr. Ram Pal Sharma besides sports lovers in large numbers were present on the occasion.Bhalla said Government is making all out efforts to organize more and more sports events in all districts adding that sports helps channelizing the energy of the youth towards constructive purposes and promotes their overall development.
Bhalla said the Government has started several mega projects to strengthen and upgrade sports infrastructure adding that crores have been earmarked for construction of sports fields and stadiums at tehsil and district levels so that sports lovers are provided needed infrastructure to prepare for various national and international competitions.Mr. Bhalla urged the younger generation to participate in co-curricular activities. He said co-curricular activities are essential for making the students physically and mentally fit. He appealed the students to participate in sports activities in a big way besides pursuing academic education.
