To discuss the arrangements for celebration of Independence Day-2015, Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Nisar Ahmed Wani chaired a meeting in the Conference Hall of DC Office Complex here today.Senior Superintendent of Police, J S Johar, Additional District Development Commissioner, Arvind Sharma, PO ICDS, Manzoor Hussain, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Shafiq Ahmed Choudhary, Assistant Commissioner Development, Basharat Hussain, CPO, Mohammad Iqbal Zargar besides Executive Engineers of PHE, PDD, PWD(R&B), CEO, CMO, representatives of Army and other officers attended the meeting.
The meeting decided that the celebrations of I-Day will begin with the playing of Shehnai Vadan by the District Information Centre Poonch in the wee hours of the Day. The main function will be held at Sports Stadium Poonch where the VIP shall unfurl the National Flag and take salute from the ceremonial parade comprising the contingents from J&K Police, Armed Police, CRPF, NCC Cadets besides students from various educational institutions. Deputy Commissioner stressed upon all the officers to act in unison to put in place the arrangements for the national day well in time.
Threadbare discussions were held regarding various arrangements which include barricading, seating, beautification, security & traffic, media coverage, cultural programmes, power and water supply, fire tenders, first aid, PAS, deployment of buses etc. The education department was instructed to prepare cultural items based on patriotic theme highlighting the national integration, communal harmony and concept of secularism and local culture.Senior Superintendent of Police, J S Johar who also spoke on the occasion emphasized on greater cooperation between different departments to ensure smooth celebrations of the national day.
