Lal Singh inaugurates 3-day state level workshop on MISP

Terming Health Services as a missionary job, Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI & Trainings, Ch. Lal Singh today stressed upon the functionaries of Health Department to implement all programmes and policies at gross root level with a view to provide succor to people.The Minister was addressing at the inaugural function of 3 day State level orientation cum training workshop on Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for Sexual and Reproductive Health in Disaster in Jammu & Kashmir, held at Regional Institute of Health and Family Welfare (RIHFW), Dhobi wan, Baramulla. The workshop was organized by National Health Mission, J&K in collaboration with UNFPA and Sphere India for Chief Medical Officers, State Trainers ASHA Programme, District ASHA Coordinates and District Programme Managers.

The Minister called upon the participants to take advantage of the workshop and transform the same knowledge down to the target people, so that common people and other stakeholders could do their best in the hour of exigency or disaster. He also expressed his gratitude to the organizers for providing support to State for capacity building of manpower for any disaster.On the occasion the Minister was informed that the training programme focuses on reproductive health interventions for community affected by natural disasters.Director Health Services, Kashmir Dr. Sameer Matto, Principal RIHFW Mr. S.M. Qadri, Mission Director NRHM Dr. Yashpal Sharma, Director Family Welfare, Dr. Baldav Sharma also spoke on the occasion.The resource persons for the training programme from UNFPA and Sphere India gave lectures and presented an animated film.Later, the Minister inspected various sections of the Institute including public health museum, laboratory and Library.
