The Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Mubarak Gul on Thursday directed all the Chairmen of the Financial and other Committees of the House to work with utmost dedication and ensure that the functioning of House Committees result oriented.
He asked them to conduct on the spot inspections and study tours to other State of the Country.This was stated by the Speaker while addressing a meeting convened to discuss the functioning of the House Committees here in the main hall of the Assembly Complex.
The Chairmen of House Committees including Public Undertakings, Mr. Mohammad Sharief Naiz, Committee on Estimates, Dr. Mustafa Kamal, Committee on Petitions, Mr. Ashok Kumar, Committee on Privileges Mr. Mohammad Irfan Shah and Ethics Committee Mr. Aijaz Ahmed Jan werte also present in the meeting.The Chairmen briefed the meeting about the activities of their respective Committees and assured that the reports in this regard will be submitted well in time.Describing Action Taken Reports (ATRs) a very important for making the working of the Committees result oriented, the Speaker asked the concerned to take follow-up actions and conduct maximum inspections to examine the cases on-the-spot.While discussing the working of Petitions Committee, Mr. Gul asked for giving wide publicity about the working of Committee both in print and electronic media for the benefit of the general public. He said that he (Speaker) is also desired to establish Grievance Cell in the Assembly Secretariat, adding that there is already a Petition Committee which is looking look-after the petitions of general public.The meeting was attended by Secretary Assembly, M. Ramzan, Secretary Law, Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Mir and Secretary General Administration Department, Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed Bukahri.
