To deal with traffic congestion on busy Military Hospital Chowk in Udhampur, the Army shall undertake construction of a foot overbridge.The decision to this effect was taken in a meeting convened by Minister of State for finance and Information technology, Mr Pawan Kumar Gupta with Sub Area Commander Major General Anil Pratap Rai and other officers here today.Responding to issues related to dilapidated roads by the Minister, Major General Rai said that the construction wing of Army Northern command would carry out repair activities on all the damaged roads falling within their zones.Major General Rai assured the Minister for undertaking improvement and repairs on Jib Thathi and Charisial roads.Minister also projected the issue of construction and development of play fields, installation of high Mast lights on prominent squares besides construction of community hall.
Major General assured the Minister that all the developmental activities projected shall be worked out and their feasibility shall be examined.Earlier, Minister expressed gratitude to the Army in general and Northern Command in particular for their philanthropic activities undertaken for development of Udhampur. He lauded the role of the Army and Paramilitary forces in maintaining tight vigil and for cultivating harmonious civil-military relations.Social worker , Suresh Dixit was also present on the occasion.
