Dashmesh Hockey Club Nanak Nagar defeated Young Star Simbal at a keenly contested final of the First Baba Fateh Singh ji Memorial Hockey Tournament 2013 played at Hakhu Hockey Stadium here this afternoon.Minister for Labour, Planning and Development Mr Ajay Sadhotra was the Chief Guest at the concluding function of the tournament organised by Baghbin  Club Gole Gujaral.Held under the aegis of Hockey Jammu and Kashmir in synergy with State Sports Council, the Second Senior Winner Hockey Tournament commenced on 30th October. Reputed hockey teams participated in the tournament which was watched by thousands of sports lovers. Prominent among them were the former Minister and MLA Mr Surjeet Singh Slathia, President Hockey J&K Mr Narendra Batra, Secretary General Romal Singh, Mr G. S Bakshi and others.The Minister gave away trophies and prizes to the winners, runner up and other teams who participated in the event.Congratulating the players and the participating teams, Mr Sadhotra expressed satisfaction over growing interest among youngsters in various sports activities. He said sports is imperative for overall growth of the young people and in calculates in them a sense of competition.
