Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon today convened a meeting of Srinagar Development Authority, PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, ERA, Srinagar Master Plan (2001-2021) and other line department officers and took threadbare review of various ongoing development works.Authorities of these departments were instructed to submit their action of plan to Srinagar Development Authority taking into consideration frequent floods and earthquake dangers in the Valley. He impressed upon them to ensure completion of works on priority.
The Divisional Commissioner also took a detailed review of Pantha Chowk Bus Terminal and directed the executing agency to speed up its pace and complete the project in a stipulated time frame.The meeting was informed that Rs. 3.07 crore are being utilized for development of a satellite town at ‘’Rukh Gund Aksha’’. It was further revealed that Rs. 1.73 crore have been advanced for restoration and maintenance of irrigation and flood control works.Chief Engineer Irrigation and Flood Control was instructed to identify vulnerable points across river Jehlum and dumping adequate quantity of sand bags to meet any exigency. In view of the advisory of the Metrological department of rain predictions, the Divisional Commissioner also directed for setting up of Control Rooms at each district level for the convenience of people.
