Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Simrandeep Singh today convened a meeting of officers and representatives of various religious organizations at Eidgah to review the arrangements of ensuing Eid festival.The Deputy Commissioner took detailed review of the arrangements put in place by the concerned authorities and directed the concerned to work in synergy to make adequate arrangements in time to facilitate the devotees. He asked for maintaining better coordination among the allied departments including Auqaf and Masjid Committees to ensure better facilities to the devotees on this auspicious day. Mr. Singh directed the health officer, JMC to ensure the cleanliness outside all the mosques located within the municipal limit of Jammu besides also ensuring the availability of mobile public utility van outside the Eidgah ground on the occasion of Eid for the facilities of devotees. He asked the PHE department to make adequate arrangements for drinking water at Eidgah site on the occasion. He directed the PDD to ensure uninterrupted power supply during Eid prayers so that prayers in the mosques are performed without any disturbance. Fire and emergency services officers were asked to keep fire tenders ready at vulnerable places to face any eventuality.
The DC directed the Health officer JMC and officers of CAPD, Legal Metrology and Police department to conduct regular market checking, especially during the festivities for maintaining quality of commodities as also to thwart attempts of overcharging by the shopkeepers for the essential commodities like food products especially meat and poultry.The issues related to security, traffic management were also discussed in the meeting and on-the-spot directions were given to the concerned officers to act in time.
