Two days after High Court issued a contempt notice to an organisation of private schools for wrong interpretation of its orders over charging of fees for the months of September-October last year during which educational institutions were closed due to floods, a civil society group has decided to go to Supreme Court against private schools and for retention of High Court order.Chairman of Kashmir Civil Society Coalition Accountability for Private Schools Shakeel Wali told KNS that he has decided to approach SC against Joint Committee of Private Schools (JCPS) for claiming that the High Court had allowed the schools to charge all kinds of fees, including for the September-October period, despite the court directions to the contrary.“We appeal parents not to submit any fee for these months till further order from the SC,” he said.Pertinently, HC has issued notice on Wednesday (July 9) to GN Var of JCPS, who in a statement on Monday has said the schools will "go by the High Court order which has given them liberty to collect all types of fees as in August 2014."
