Vigilance Awareness Week was observed from October 28 to November 02, 2013 under the theme “Promoting good governance -positive contribution of vigilance” at the Srinagar International Airport. The program, comprised of various events like essay writing, slogan writing and Debate competition in which students from all over the valley participated.On its closing ceremony on November 02 District Development Commissioner Budgam, Mr. Khursheed Ahmad Shah while presiding over the function shared his ideas in helping build a corruption free society by bringing about attitudinal changes. He said that the institution like Vigilance can contribute its bit by public cooperation and its is the duty of every citizen to pin-point the corrupt and unscrupulous persons before the authorities, who are at the helm of affairs to deal with such malpractices, then only good governance can be promoted and positive contribution of vigilance will be assured, he added. Director Airport, Mr. K.K.Dubey, Deputy Commandant CRPF, Mr. Prashant Kumar and other were present at the event. The week is organized every year by Central Vigilance Commission of India throughout the country with an aim of creating awareness among people against all forms of corruption in order to ensure transparent and accountable government.
