Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir paid an extensive visit of Pattan and its adjoining areas and today took stock of various development works under execution in the Tehsil.Later, the Minister chaired an officers meeting which was among others attended by prominent citizens and representatives of Shia community. The meeting discussed measures which need to be taken for providing essential commodities to people like adequate power supply, drinking water, first aid, firewood, LPG and other essentials during the auspicious days of Muharram.The Minister directed to concerned officers to ensure all the facilities to Shia community. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla, Assistant Director CA&PD and other sectoral officers.Later, at another meeting with officers of Irrigation and Flood Control Kashmir, Agriculture Minister discussed matter related to extending irrigation facility to various orchards and paddy fields of Tangmarg constituency. Chief Engineer, Irrigation and Flood Control, Kashmir, Mir Javed Jaffer, Executive Engineer Tube Well Irrigation, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sopore and all Assistant Executive Engineers attended the meeting.
Interacting with the officers, the Minister desired to explore the possibility for providing irrigation facility to orchards and for speeding up the execution of work on Khoi Khul Tangmarg and Tilgam Khul under 10th Technical Advisory Committee (TAC). He also directed for taking up execution of work on Chukar Bewa storage scheme and Niharpora under TAC-12th scheme. Besides, Mr. Mir directed to explore the possibility for storage schemes like Ringawaoo and Gulabdaji. He also asked the officers to take care of jurisdiction of Babul canal in the interest of general public.The meeting was informed that Chichlora Irrigation Scheme has been taken up while as Waripora Tangmarg and Sriwaripora are in progress. Besides, DR’s for Vitiko, Heing and Shirpora Kaniloo have been submitted for approval. It was also told that three artificial recharge schemes which include Mewnar, Halinar and Nagrad Nar have also been submitted for approval.
