Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Dr. Asgar Samoon today reviewed pace of developmental works and arrangements for coming Shab-i-Qadr, Jamat-ul-Vida and Eid-ul-Fitr in a meeting at Kulgam. Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Chief Engineers of R&B, I&FC, PDD, Superintending Engineers of the concerned departments, Sub Divisional Magistrates, Tehsildars, CA&PD officers and other concerned attended the meeting.In the meeting action taken reports regarding relief and rehabilitation of September 2014 flood victims, arrangements for coming sacred days for Jumat-ul-Vida, Shab-i-Qadr and Eid-ul-Fitr and demolition of unlawful structures on the river banks were discussed threadbare in the meeting.

Deputy Commissioner gave a detailed review regarding the flood relief and rehabilitation amount of relief paid and the arrangements being made for the coming sacred days.Div Com directed for speeding up the pace of developmental works so that the set targets are completed before the set time frame. He urged upon all to ensure the use of quality material. He instructed for identification of alternate state land so that the flood victim are provided with the alternate residential provisions.

Dr. Samoon also directed CA&PD officers to ensure the adequate ration supply throughout the District including far flung areas of Dandwrd, Badijalan and Dnew Kandimarg. PDD and PHE Engineers were directed to ensure uninterrupted power & Water supply keeping in view the coming Shab-i-Qadr, Jumat-ul-Vida and Eid-ul-Fitr. Div Com also stressed for ensuring the cleanliness around the centrally located Mosques and Eidgahs. Keeping in view the recent High Court Orders, Div. Com stressed for intensifying the demolition of unlawful residential structures and trees on river banks so that floods are averted in future. All the officers assured that the arrangements will be kept in place before the sacred days. Div. Com urged upon all officers to work with close coordination dedication and transparency so that the fruits of Govt. run schemes are taken to general masses.
