Minister for Public Health Engineering (PHE), Irrigation & Flood Control, Sukhnandan Kumar Choudhary today chaired a meeting of officers at Mini-Secretariat Ganderbal to review the arrangements put in place by the district administration for the ongoing Amarnath Yatra.The Minister was apprised that the administration has made fool proof arrangements for smooth conduct of yatra which is going on smoothly via Baltal route. The District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Showkat Aijaz, apprised the minister about the arrangements through a power point presentation.
The meeting discussed the facilities provided by different departments in detail. Among other things threadbare discussion was held on the facilities, equipments and staff available at Baltal base hospital and other hospitals, water points provided by PHE, registration of ponies and laborers, supply of essentials, power supply, sanitation and availability of firewood at different stations en-route to the cave via Baltal.The minister stressed upon the officers to be proactive and put all efforts for smooth and comfortable yatra. “When the Yatra goes on smoothly and comfortably a good message will go to other states about the hospilitality by the State Government” the Minister said. Later the Minister visited the base camp for Amarnath Yatra at Police Training School Manigam and took stock of the arrangements made by district administration for smooth conduct of Yatra. He went around the Base camp and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements put in place by the district administration.
