The BJP on Tuesday called the Congress "confused" after the opposition party dismissed the Madhya Pradesh government's decision recommending a CBI probe into the Vyapam recruitment scam, insisting on a Supreme Court-monitored CBI probe instead."I think the Congress is confused under the leadership of (party vice president) Rahul Gandhi. They should decide what they want," BJP national secretary Siddhartha Nath Singh told media persons here."If they want a CBI probe, the chief minister has already requested it. And so far as the court-monitored probe is concerned, the high court monitored SIT is already investigating the matter," he said.

The Congress has termed "misleading" the Madhya Pradesh government's decision for a high court-monitored CBI probe and demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan over the Vyapam recruitment scam which has claimed the lives of over 40 people since 2013 -- dead in mysterious circumstances or having committed suicide.Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia earlier told the media here: "It's an effort to mislead people. We still remain firm on our demand for a Supreme Court-monitored probe."If we want a neutral probe, then the chief minister should resign. We want to clarify that if there has to be transparency, then he (Chouhan) should not object to an SC-monitored probe."

Siddhartha Nath Singh insisted that the Madhya Pradesh government and the Bharatiya Janata Party leadership were transparent and endeavouring for speedy justice in the matter."The BJP leadership and the Madhya Pradesh government are showing full transparency in the matter and want speedy justice..."While the deaths are unfortunate, the opposition is linking them to Vyapam which is not true. Nevertheless, the deaths need to be stopped and the state government is sensitive and conscious about it," he added.
