Expressing deep sympathies with the families of those killed in Patna serial blasts, BJP Member of Parliament & J&K Prabhari Avinash Rai Khanna said that the blasts were the result of Bihar government’s lack of will to take timely and effective steps to ensure adequate security arrangements in view of the specific alert sent to the Bihar police by the Intelligence Bureau on October 23 as well as the pre-announced participation of the BJP stalwarts and party’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in the “Hunkaar Rally”.He said that while these blasts are highly condemnable, the patience displaced by lakhs of party activists assembled in the Gandhi Maiden to maintain peace and not allow any kind of stampede or violence once again proved that each activist of BJP works on the principle of peace and harmony. He stressed upon the Union Home Ministry to immediately review the security of Narendra Modi. He also reiterated party’s demand for a high level enquiry to look into the lapses which led to series of bomb blasts in Patnaon Sunday.Khanna blamed forces opposed to BJP’s anti-terrorism stand for the blasts at Patna and demanded strict vigil on Indian Mujahideen (IM).
While addressing media persons at party headquarters alongwith State President Jugal Kishore Sharma, National Executive Member Dr. Nirmal Singh, State General Secretaries Rajiv Jasrotia and Bali Bhagat, State Publicity Secretary Aseem Gupta and BJYM State President Ravinder Raina, he also expressed concern over delay in granting basic rights, compensation and other benefits to the refugees of West Pakistan, PoK and others, who have been agitating for more than 60 years now but the successive deaf governments in the state never heard their cries. Khanna, who, alongwith other leaders, is undertaking “Refugees Adhikaar Yatra” in Jammu province, said that while refugee like Dr. Manmohan Singh can become Prime Minister of India, three generations of lakhs of other refugees have perished demanding citizenship rights, right to vote, compensations of the properties left in PoK. They are being subjected to discrimination and injustice for none of their crime, which is indeed very unfortunate.
Khanna also lambasted the Congress-led UPA and the NC-Congress coalition in the state for adopting a complete silence on the situation on borders, where our neighbour country Pakistan has led a proxy war for the last over two decades. Pakistan never honour any cease-fire agreement and indulge in unprovoked firing which results into killing of innocent civilians besides personal of army and para-military forces. The people living near borders with Pakistan cannot cultivate their fields, their cattle are killed by firing and shelling from across the border. These helpless border people have been completely left at the mercy of Pakistan, which is unfair and injustice as well as failure of the Central and State government to discharge their duties in protecting the territories, ensure safety and security of the people. He assured that the BJP will continue to extent support and raise the voice of refugees and border people at every appropriate forum.
